Overview
Claremont sits about 20 minutes north of the Hobart CBD on the western shore of the Derwent, wrapped around the wide bend of the river below Mount Faulkner. Once a self-contained village built around the Cadbury factory at Claremont Point, it has grown into one of greater Hobart's most active growth corridors, with new subdivisions filling the elevated slopes above the older cottage streets.
Lifestyle
Life here is unhurried and outdoors. Locals walk the foreshore tracks at Cadbury Estate and Windermere Bay, launch boats at the Claremont ramp, and take in views that sweep from kunanyi / Mount Wellington across the Derwent to the Eastern Shore. The Brooker Highway puts the city, MONA at Berriedale and the northern suburbs all within an easy drive.
